meet my pants

funny story, at my expense.

okay, so i was doing laundry right? ya know, clothes in washer, sorting lights and darks and all that good stuff. anyway, i went down 38 minutes later (that's how long the washer takes) and open up the light one and immediately think "oh crap!!" because i now have one light brown/tan pair of pants, one medium tanish and one white. it must have been a long day because i some how convinced myself that the dark brown pants had discolored everything turning them three different shades. oh wait, that's how they started. and the dark brown pants were in a completely different load. go figure, now i feel like an idiot because i was standing there trying to figure out what i had possibly done wrong.

i'm at work right now-- and no i'm not posting this at work... i actually technically posted this thursday (30th) night but youre not reading it until friday because i'm super sneaky and can pre-date (?) things. i figured i already supplied you all with one post last night and that would tide you over until this morning.

also, unless i have any funny stories i probably won't be posting until sunday night once alison leaves. i'll be busy hanging out and what not. enjoy your weekend =)

9:16

so it's 9:16 on sunday morning... i've finished two loads of laundry, taken a shower, gotten dressed, and finished my psych reading/homework for the week. now I have to wait two more hours for everyone else to get up so we can go eat some breakfast :P

hockey last night was freaking awesome. they won 6-4 and played so much better than friday night (when they lost 3-5). unfortunately (well, fortunately for me) they have to play another game tonight and they MUST win or else they're out. three hockey games in one weekend!

Rant Session Needed

There are some days when complaining is just necessary. This is one of those days.

It's a rainy, yucky 50 something degree day here in Rochester. It's week 5 which is exactly halfway through the quarter which means lotsss of projects and such to complete. I'm also in the middle of a cold complete with sore throat, runny nose and feeling hot/cold. It's wonderful. Today was one of my two long days; classes from noon until 9 pm with two breaks at 1 and 5. Except today my 2 pm class ran over so I didn't end up getting out until 10 minutes before my 6 pm class leaving no time for any dinner other than one of those applesauce cups. So, basically I was in class from 2pm until 9 pm straight. Got out at 9 and then went and got myself a smoothie (yumm, good suggestion mom!). Waiting around until a floor meeting at 10:30 to discuss how the heck our bathrooms are getting so messy and full of junk that.

Now, I should probably end this and go get my laundry out of the washer before someone steals it or spills it all over the floor.

8 am Laundry

Alarm went off at 7 am this morning. That was not a very pleasant sound.

I actually don't even have class until noon but I have so much nonsense to do.  Spent 13 hours so far on a drawing for one of my classes-- i'm 25% done and it's due Tuesday. Just ask Ashley, i've been eating, sleeping, breathing art. Basically didn't do anything except homework and sleeping all weekend and because of this my laundry did not get done.. so solution is to wake up at 7 am, draw for an hour and then go do laundry. To my surprise there was no one else who had that idea so I had the ENTIRE laundry room to myself. I thought about putting one shirt in each washer just because I could but then decided that sounded like a bad idea.

Now I'm headed over to NRH to print out some stuff in the computer lab (doesn't cost anything, so why use your own?). Probably spend another hour or so drawing and then get breakfast/lunch before class at noon. Classes until 5 then drawing for an hour, dinner, working on my clay duck and then more drawing... you get the idea..

I'll try updating something longer and more meaningful on Wednesday once I finish the drawing. Of course, then I'll have three papers to write and another project to do. So hope you all have a happy thanksgiving, a merry christmas and I'll see you when I come out of the cave in four years at graduation!

Laundry--Who Needs the Clothes?

My mom was joking before about what she would have to do to be considered "blog-worthy". Well mom, you did it! Today she came home from the grocery store and decided to put in a load of laundry.. got all of the soapy stuff in, started the water etc, closed the lid. Come to find out 20 or so minutes later that she forgot to put the clothes in! Whoops!

She is currently making me corn pudding-- mmm it's my favorite. Going off to babysit in less than an hour.

Laundry Baskets, Apple Pancakes & Fried Shrimp

Okay to start off with, this post is going to have nothing to do with fried shrimp. I simply do not eat fried shrimp and I never intend on doing so, therefore there would be no good reason to post about it.. however, I needed a third item to title this post to make it sound better and it was the first thing that came to mind.

Anyway, now for the parts of the title that actually do have meaning. Laundry baskets. The days are quickly passing by and in just under 40 days I will be packing up and leaving for Rochester. Actually, I hope to be packed up SOONER than 40 days because I don't really like to leave things until the last minute. My mom left this morning to drive down to DC to visit with her friend from high school so Sarah, my dad and I went down to Rockville Pike for a breakfast/college outing. Ate breakfast at this place called the Original Pancake House and let me tell you they have some mighty tasty pancakes. Sarah & I shared an Apple Pancake and a Dutch Baby (which are good but not quite on the same level as the ones from Walker Brothers). Afterwards we walked over to look for a winter coat for me at REI... which conveniently won't be in stock until September, a month too late to be helpful. Ditched that idea and went over to the Container Store to look for some stacking boxes for under my bed. Ended up finding a nifty collapsable laundry bag.
(isn't it neat? Sarah's favorite part is the collapsing feature which she proceeded to test out numerous times on not only this but other items in the store)

Alison's coming over in a few minutes so I should sign off and go hide our glassware :)
