Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

We won!

First volleyball game of the season was tonight. I convinced Ashley to go with me now that she's in her "going to say yes to everything" mood. Got there 15 minutes early and we were really afraid that it was going to be the two of us against a team of 8 guys! Good thing some other people decided to show up. It's by no means high class volleyball, we won't be knocking Penn State out of their position any day soon but it's still fun.

It's currently snowing outside and the snow appears to want to continue until Sunday according to weather dot com. Hopefully we well get some good snowman building snow, that would be lovely.

I got to paint today! Fingerpainting, actually! We're working on one project in drawing right now that requires ridiculous amounts of concentration and the next project is really really loose so my professor gave us paint and told us to use pencils and paint to draw the skeleton. I'm actually rather happy with how my turned out, not really so much how it looks but it was super fun to make and it's surprising what you can convey even when everything is messy. I'll post a picture sometime later, it's currently drying in my locker and I didn't want the snow to mess it up.

My eight am class tomorrow was cancelled about two minutes ago due to snow (already... yeah, i know..) but that's okay because now I get to sit here and "be in class" on my computer. Too bad we have a quiz tomorrow on unknown topics. 3d goes from 9 until noon, meeting Ashley for a quick lunch, meeting at work from 1-2, class from 2-5 then DRAWING until the end of time! It's actually not that bad, i'm having fun drawing it now. I'm also working on this giant coloraid project for 2d. It's an extension of something we're doing in class and I liked it so much that I'm just working on something for the heck of it.

It's a Wrap!

I'm home! I guess i've been a bit sidetracked because I've actually been home since last Friday morning!

While most other people were sleeping,  I got a taxi to the airport around 4:30 am. Small airports are amazing. I made it through security in 10 minutes or less. In fact, we had so much extra time that Drake and I were able to watch an entire episode of Stella and STILL had a good hour and a half to wait. Made it home by 8:30 ish-- before Drake's plane had even left Rochester =)

Alison came over after her class at 11, it was really good to finally see her after THREE months! Went to Chipotle for dinner... mmmm, boy did I miss that stuff. Since Friday it's just been a lot of relaxing and hanging out! It's so weird to go from working all of the time to doing absolutely nothing. My mom has been making me deliciously tasty food -- mashed potatoes, pasta, broccoli! Mmmm.  It's nice not having to eat in a dining all all of the time. Sunday morning we went to church at 9 and then went out to brunch at Eggspectation with Alison and her family.  After breakfast I went over to Alison's house to help her clean her room and see Gali!

Monday afternoon I went over to River Hill to see Mr. Molfino and some other old teachers. It's so weird going back, I kind of felt like I was still in high school. Yesterday afternoon Sarah had volleyball tryouts for MDJRS down in college park so I rode along to go see Corey and Jenni! Helped with volleyball check in and then met up with Corey so I could see their dorm room and catch up. Walked down to rt 1 after Jenni was out of class and met her at Chipotle! It was really good to see them although it was really weird to be on a college campus that I didn't recognize! It's too bad there aren't more chances to see each other.. three months is a long time. Alison slept over again last night-- I believe that she's slept over every night except one since I've been home!

I'm special.

I got twenty bucks today. For working? No, just because i'm special.

Just kidding =)

The great thing about college is graduate school... not that I plan on going with that route, but for the simple fact that they need people to participate in their studies. So today, I spent 2 hours of my life answering some simple questions and debating with anonymous people online about our current political system, views, etc. Then I got twenty bucks, simple as that.

Played volleyball tonight, it was so-so. Just wasn't feeling it tonight for some reason. It also turns out that the movie we wanted to see isn't even playing until tomorrow night (guess we can't read signs...). Oh well, more time for homework.

Time for painting in the lounge!

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

Who knew Monday could be such a good day?

Well, half of my day was said in the post below this one. So this one will recount the facts since 1:30 this afternoon. Had the 2pm 2D class. Today was a critique day since we just finished up a major project. Critique days mean we sit around for 3 hours talking about everyone's work and what we like/don't like about it. Sounds easy but it gets quite long and boring after a while. I've been working on this project for about 3 weeks now-- I think. I honestly cannot remember if I have mentioned anything about what this project was before, so I'll recap. We had to bend wire, photograph it, cut it up, piece it together and come up with something that uses line, repetition, movement, etc. I had one idea going for 3 weeks, it was pretty decent, however, there was something about it that just didn't seem to work. To get around this I went home and tore it apart. Sounds violent but you never know what else you can do until you try and I have a serious problem getting around my first idea so it's best to just destroy it all together. I'm SO glad I did because I'm pretty happy with my final piece-- and it even got an A! No small feat at this school... so it feels pretty good every once in a while.

I took a picture today of my 3d project too, but the picture came out so horribly because of the odd lighting in the room so I'm embarrassed even to post it up here. I'll see if I can get a better one tomorrow if it's not ripped apart by then.

I've been working on yet another tinfoil drawing tonight--due tomorrow. Went and played volleyball with some guys over at the SLC for a break from homework. Ended up playing doubles because there were only 3 other guys on the court, oh well, not bad for a Monday night. It was pretty nice because two of the guys have played before so there was always someone to set plus I got to pass a lot since the guy on the other side is a huge hitter. I think i'm going to play volleyball tomorrow night after class with Andrew's (Ashley's boyfriend) intramural team. We'll see. My class ends at 8:50 and the game starts at 9.

Anyway, I'm off to watch another episode of the OC with Ashley before bedtime!

Princess Uno

Question: What are our parent’s tax dollars going to?

Answer: Teaching us how to play princess uno!

Yeah, okay so maybe that was not their intention when they first created the public school system but it’s kind of what it’s turning out to be.

Alison slept over last night (yes, it was a school night. no, i did not have any homework). We watched Once (kind of an irish musical i guess?) and gilmore girls and, of course, played Princess Uno! And when we were sitting in stats today with nothing to do-- why not play it again?? Alison claims i’m a failure of an uno player but I promise I’m getting better! I think sometimes I just mix up uno and go-fish... whoops. The rest of the day consisted of a whole lot of nothing; today was the last “official day” of school since we begin finals tomorrow. Painted the senior sign (a board that goes up in the cafeteria every year for the seniors..) during 5th and 6th. Ate ice cream afterschool at the final NHS meeting. I’m currently at Sarah’s volleyball practice being pelted with volleyballs, I guess I should start paying attention so I don’t get clonked in the head.
