Tentative schedule for next fall. Tentative because I'm not entirely sure I can get into calligraphy but the rest are pretty set.

Two design courses, two art history, one asl concentration class (i'll be done with my concentration after that) and one studio elective.

sounds good, not too hectic because i'm not taking any writing courses. i'd keep working on my minor but all the professors teaching next quarter don't sound particularly good so I figured i'd take other things.

the 20th century art one will hopefully (let's cross our fingers for this one) count for honors credit. since i'm a late entry honors student, i need 12 credits worth of honors type things. so i should prolly get cracking on those.

registration is occurring bright and early at 6 am tomorrow, hopefully the internet holds up for that one. somehow i'm now considered a third year. wonder how that one happened. probably my stupidity of overloading =) whoops.

meeting with some housing/maintenance guy. lets all just pray for a moment that i don't attack anyone with anger. when i wake up to emails that read... "We would like to schedule a time tomorrow that both of you will be available to meet with Greg at your apartment as he checks the monitoring unit for any bed bug activity. You have now completed 2 round of treatments which should be sufficient to resolve the problem. If Greg finds any activity in the unit, we will have to resume treatments beginning on Monday. This is not an optional course of action. However, if he does not find any activity that may indicate that the last 2 bugs found were in fact the last remaining in your apartment. "... i don't really get warm fuzzy feelings.

oh really now.

sufficient to resolve the problem? so continuing to find live bed bugs on my bed is a resolved problem?! well, please by all means share with me your definition of resolved since we clearly disagree.

moving on. i have not one, not two, but three flash projects now to finish within the next 4 weeks (well, two of them are due before the four weeks is up). i also have four papers to finish before next wednesday. don't even ask me how that is possible.

Honestly have not been spending that much time on the computer lately.. and by that I mean I'm technically in a lab a lot but not necessarily doing anything other than flash animation or writing papers.

Between admissions, video filming, time based class, small group, the refugee family, our messed up apartment, and like 400 other things that need attention... I've had no time!

Last Friday I got an email saying that I was accepted to the honors program :) I applied about three weeks ago and then had an interview a week after that.

I'm filming more stuff tonight (in about an hour), then working on homework and laundry all night. Tomorrow morning I'm working the admissions open house all morning until a meeting thing at NTID around 12. Giving a tour at 2 and then I originally had another meeting at 4 but that was cancelled so I'm going to work on my flash project in the lab instead. Saturday morning I'm meeting someone from a club that i'm doing the design for next year and then I have an art history review session followed by more lab time. After that I'm being in a photoshoot for someone who needed a model. More homework after that and then I might (key word) get to possibly hang out? We'll see. Sunday morning is church and then going downtown for the refugee family. Then a volleyball game and homework.

I find it amusing to look at my calendar but it's all stuff I want to be doing (and i signed myself up for) so it's okay. I have about four to-do lists all around various places in case I misplace one.

I really need to find a way to get this flash video uploaded online after I finish -- which will not be for sometime. I also have a press kit to put together for another class but that's not nearly as exciting to look at.

Currently in the middle of looking at some internship type things for the summer, I'm keeping my options open.. so we'll see where that is all going :) April-June is completely booked. I'm trying to keep myself busy all summer because it might be my last flexible one (this is, of course, hoping that someone hires me!)

I cannot believe that next week is week seven. Where in the world is this quarter going??? Apparently I have 3rd year status because I keep overloading on classes and I also have honors status which means I get to sign up for classes super early which is a definite plus.

OH YES... and playoff hockey starts tonight for the caps!!! 7pm puck drop.

rain, worms and good days.

good days are always right around the corner.

despite seeing a rather large disgusting worm on my way to class this morning, my day was great. worked from 9:30-4:30 which gives plenty of talking time with admissions friends :)

after work i went over to the library to meet up with some people from my asl class. we had to watch a 1 hour dvd on asl culture. we ended up hijacking two couches and a dvd player in the library and watching it right there. good plan.

finished up with that and headed over to crossroads to meet up with three other ambassadors to work on blogging things plus one of my friends from asl came so we pretty much all goofed around, took pictures for the blog and chatted. PLUS i bought peanut butter, good news? i thought so.

now time for some homework then sleep! ONE day until detroit. i'm so excited! have i mentioned that enough already?

frustration and relief

frustration.

that's a good word for it.

learning patience, value of real friends, alone time and the need to walk away.

i honestly don't even think i can fully describe the extent of what is going on right now. i'm so exhausted and frustrated by it that it's sometimes easier to just ignore things and figure out whatever makes me happier.

i apologize if this is really depressing sounding, everything is fine really, i'm just slightly overwhelmed by things to think about.

i have really great friends. really, really great. the kind that i can spend 6 hours outside with waiting in line in the freezing cold. the kind that i can go home with and feel totally comfortable. the kind that i can just escape with for an hour or two to cool off. the kind i can just rant to for hours about the amusing situations that go on here and they don't even seem to mind.

i'm convinced that this is all supposed to be teaching me something. i mean honestly? what else am i supposed to get out of this.

anyway, enough analyzing of ambiguous things.

easter was excellent! went to church with a bunch of people from IV in the morning. the fathers house always does easter right. it's so cool to have worship in a room filled with hundreds of people who would like to be no where else at that given moment. i've started volunteering there too which means that i'm finally meeting people from outside of RIT! this sunday officially marked one year of going there, seems weird how much has changed in that year.

after church i came back here and hung around for a few hours before heading to buffalo with kara and jared. it was so nice to have easter dinner with family around-- even if they weren't my family! lots of eating and chatting about hockey :) so glad that i got to go and get off campus for a while, it's a nice change of pace and definitely a heck of a lot more fun than eating by myself. don't worry real family, i'll still give ya a second chance ;)

tomorrow is completely packed from 8 am until 10 pm with classes, group projects which is good because i'll come back and crash. wednesday i have two midterms and a dominican/american small group dinner-get together which should be fun. then on thursday i'm leaving for DETROIT!!! so excited! :)

week in review

this is the problem with being so busy. i'm doing so much that i want to talk about but there is no time to write!

anyway, let's back track a bit. this is week four which means next week is midterm week. uhoh.

thursday I woke up at 3 am. i'm currently in the midst of bad spring allergies which is really no help for sleeping. except this morning i did not wake up because of that. i woke up so that i could go and walk over to the field house box office and stand in line for tickets!! there were roughly 150 other students that actually camped out all night. i went with rebecca and met two other friends there to wait. we waited. and waited. and waited. until 10:15. well past my 8 am class in which i had a quiz. finally got my ticket!! so worth the wait. they ended up selling out later that day. plus there is the whole school spirit part of it. there were 3 different news crews milling around all night capturing footage.







thursday afternoon i had a meeting at work and somehow a bunch of the ambassadors all ended up outside in kodak quad. it's been SO nice this week. it got up to 90 even. it's mostly been hanging around 85 during the day though.






friday morning i worked from 8 until noon and then grabbed lunch with rebecca and headed over to watch the baseball game. it was a double header so we were outside from 1 until 6 pm! it was so worth just sitting outside and enjoying the weather.

saturday morning i worked in the labs for a few hours and then headed back over to the baseball field to watch another game. i couldn't stay for the second game this time though because i had to go over to The Fathers House for one of the easter services. i'm technically going to church this morning but they asked for tonss of volunteers for the other 6 services so i got to work in the 1 year old room again!!
